As an operator, manager, or governing body of a small system, you face daily challenges to providing reliable, safe drinking water to your consumers.   The CT Section AWWA, with support from RCAP Solutions and the American Water Works Association (AWWA), is offering a FREE one-day workshop on September 27, 2017 from 7:30a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Goodwin College-Room 311, 1 Riverside Drive, East Hartford. TCHs will be awarded for this USEPA funded workshop(application pending).

Thank you to Ti-Sales for sponsoring lunch.

This small water system training opportunity will present and discuss several of the most common water supply, treatment, distribution, and regulatory issues facing small water systems in Connecticut.  The workshop will focus on operational and compliance issues associated with water systems serving less than 1,000 people.

This small water system training opportunity is open to public water systems that serve fewer than 10,000 people. The session is intended to provide individuals responsible for small water system operation (e.g. small system board members, owners, local town officials, and others) with a better understanding of the public health significance and regulatory requirements associated with the operation of a small water system. This course is not intended for professional contract operators. Class size is limited to 25.

Course modules will be selected from among the following topics*:

  •  Regulatory Review
  •  Distribution System Water Quality
  •  Disinfection Byproduct Strategies
  •  Disinfection Overview
  •  Coliform Sampling
  •  Source Water Protection Planning

*Training modules to be finalized. 5.0 Training Contact Hour (TCH) application pending

The CT Section AWWA is committed to offering opportunities to Connecticut's small water systems to network, share information, and learn from Connecticut's water supply professionals.  Please join us for this FREE training and networking opportunity.
