Control Valve Operations and Troubleshooting

 

Control valves provide a many useful functions for system control of flow and pressure, as well as tank control and turnover. These valves operate hydraulically, or electronically.  To understand how to troubleshoot them for maintenance it is critical to understand the basic operation of them.  The following topics will be handled in this course:

 

1.    Pascal’s Principle and Basic Hydraulics to control valve operation

2.    Understanding the operation of an On/Off Control Valve, and identify the components necessary for its operation.

3.    Understanding the operation of a modulation valve, and identify the components necessary for its operation.

4.    Identify the major components of a Pressure Reducing Valve and troubleshoot its operation.

5.    Identify the major components of a Pressure Relief Valve and troubleshoot its operation.

6.    Identify the major components of an Altitude Valve and troubleshoot its operation.

7.    Identify the major component of a Pump Control Valve and troubleshoot its operation.
