CSI-Covid Screening Investigation Wastewater Training

After a brief introduction to wastewater epidemiology, this presentation will summarize research surrounding wastewater sampling programs used to investigate the development and extent of SARS-CoV-2 infections in a community.
- Basics of wastewater epidemiology
- Methods for sampling and analyzing SARS-CoV-2 in wastewater
- Application of sampling data to make public health decisions
- Ongoing research and available resources to improve sampling program effectiveness
All participants must be registered in advance to receive training certificate. Training may be attended in groups under one email.
Austin Weidner is a project engineer at Tighe & Bond, where he focuses on wastewater treatment processes. He has a BS from Lafayette College and an MS from the University of Texas, where he participated in research on nitrogen removal processes.
Jennifer Lawrence is a staff engineer at Tighe & Bond, where she focuses on water and wastewater quality. She received her BS from Carnegie Mellon University, and her MS and PhD from the University of California Berkeley, where she studied the molecular make-up of wastewater treatment processes.
